OECTA teachers march in WorldPride 2014 held in Toronto.*
Hey! It worked.
The gay agenda may be one of the biggest social engineering success stories in the history of the world. Call me crazy - I know you do. Call me old fashioned - I know you do. Call me a closeted, self-hating, homophobic, old queen - I know you do that too. But they really are here - and they really are queer - and everyone is welcome - at select churches near you.
As I have often written here, the Church is pretty much - forgive the conspiratorial language - infiltrated. Over the years I have pointed out how. More recently I have insisted that organizations such as Dignity and New Ways Ministry, though officially they have been condemned by the hierarchy, the influence of organizations such as these has permeated Catholic education at all levels. Sounds radical and crazy doesn't it? Like I should be writing for Renew America, or be Randy Engel's best friend. That's a strategy BTW - calling people fanatics, bigots, conspiracy theorists, homophobes, closeted, right wing nuts - the list goes on Poodle. But in the words of Lili Von Shtupp: "It's twue!" You don't have to believe me or the others who tell you these things - indeed, few people do. Especially churchmen ...
An indication of success.
Eons ago, far before most of the people online and in cyberspace were even born - 1982 to be exact, a priest named Enrique T Rueda published a comprehensive study on the 'homosexual movement' which had become highly politicized in the early 1970's. His book is titled "The Homosexual Network: Private Lives and Public Policy. Yes, in the 1980's I heard of the book but never read it - believing it was a right-wing nut-job documentary-conspiracy-theorist's diatribe against homosexuality. At the time it was a big step for me to be interested in Courage and trying to persuade priest-friends to organize a chapter in Minneapolis. So you can just imagine how Rueda's book would have been received at that time!
Rueda's book is more relevant than ever, since it documents the birth of many grassroots movements to "subvert the traditional ethical foundation of religion itself." How? By moving "the religious community into the full light of God's grace by achieving a full acceptance of God's love for all people." (Strategy Conference on Homophopia in the Church, 1979, Potomac Maryland. The Homosexual Network; Homosexuality and Religion, page 249)
Rueda points explains:
The code words used in describing the church's conversion to the homosexual ideology appear in the last sentence. This is a purely ideological expression designed, quite illogically, to create guilt among Christians who accept the teachings of the Bible at face value." (Ed. note: In the case of Catholics - they can be shamed for accepting CDF teaching on homosexuality at face value.) As a matter of fact, people who reject homosexuality and who have a Christian world view, do not deny that God loves homosexuals and heterosexuals alike. People who believe in traditional values necessarily accept that homosexuals are endowed with the same human dignity as heterosexuals." - Rueda, Page 249
The ideology of the homosexual movement greatest strides have been made by the adoption of the notion of homophobia, taking advantage of the Church's vulnerability to issues related to human dignity and equality, civil rights and justice.
New Ways Ministry unapproved but accepted.
This is where I see victory within Catholicism for the homosexual aka LGBTQ movement. It looks and sounds like this:
ALL ARE WELCOME: Pope Francis' Impact Visible During Pride Celebrations
LGBT and ally Catholics appeared at Pride festivities around the world this month, visible signs of Pope Francis' desire for a more merciful and welcoming Church. Canadians welcomed Catholics from around the world for WorldPride 2014 celebrations, while Catholics in the U.S. participated in local celebrations.
Repeatedly, Pride participants cited Pope Francis as a reason for their witness this month and also tied their actions to the Church's standing commitment to social justice that has resulted in American Catholics' overwhelming support for LGBT equality. Earlier this month, Bondings 2.0 suggested that marching for Pride was a key way to show solidarity for church workers under increased scrutiny for their support and involvement with marriage equality or because of their gender identity.
Additionally, many of the parishes mentioned above are on New Ways Ministry's listing of gay-friendly Catholic parishes and communities. To find a parish near you, or to suggest a new parish for the list, please click here. - Bondings 2.0
People are praising Franciscan Friars of Holy Name Province from Boston and NYC for their participation in Gay Pride events last weekend. The Friars from St. Francis in Manhattan had Mass billed as a pre-Pride Mass. Indeed, nothing was said against Catholic teaching, but the fliers that went out carried the Rainbow insignia - which is pretty much a sacramental sign for LGBTQ people who reject Catholic teaching on sexuality and marriage. The Friars are sincere, I am convinced. Their outreach is laudable and generous and very Franciscan. I hope they are as open and clear about Catholic teaching in their one on one ministry.
Just saying.

"In March, the OECTA voted to send a contingent of more than 100 to the parade as a visible and vocal message that Catholic-school teachers in the province want students to feel supported and free from discrimination.
"OECTA is just aligning with other public unions and teachers' unions Canada-wide, said Mr. Ryan, whether Catholic or not.
